indifferent I’m disappointed.

Reader reports damaged file when the file is known to be good

A known good PDF file is unable to be opened in Nitro PDF Reader. Instead, the reader program shows a blank document and a message at the top of the screen reporting "This file was damaged (corrupted) and has been repaired."

Nitro PDF Reader version 1.1.2.1

Interestingly, the exact same file can also be previewed in Windows Explorer (See image attached.)

    Dear zookster,

Would it be possible to send in the file for investigation?

If you could rename your file the same as the topic heading here and then drop the file here:

    Thanks for your patience.

    Cheers,

Actually, with the latest version just released it still reports the file is corrupted but now the reader displays the file as well. I'll still upload the file later today if you want to see an example.

I too have had similar findings. I went to open a Nitro created PDF, which looked (the icon and file size) as though it had created it properly, only to receive and error message that the file is corrupt or is not a PDF file. (When attempting to open it in Adobe Acrobat, I got a similar error, stating it was an invalid file). If you'd like me to send the file that was created in Nitro so you can see for yourself, please instruct.

In general, I LOVE NitroPFD. I've figured out how to use many of the features to my advantage, but occasionally it disappoints.

I'd also like to know what file formats it will accept for conversion to PDF. I have some image files which I'd love to convert, but no go. (When looking at the Preferences, it doesn't give me a list to look at.) Is this something you might consider in current or future versions? How does the user know what formats it will accept? (Maybe it's posted somewhere, but I've not been able to find it.) Any chance you'll be allowing image formats to be converted?

Lastly: On occasion, when trying to save a web page as PDF, Nitro fails me. It's only done this using Chrome as the browser (I typically use Firefox). Instead of creating the webpage shown, it creates the default e-mail client webpage (GMail).

And Lastly,Lastly: What to do with a very large webpage file? I attempted to save a bank statement, which would have spanned MANY pages, and I can see the entire data as I scroll down the page, BUT . . . when creating the PDF, Nitro only produces 1-2 pages (which can be viewed without scrolling). This obviously does me no good, if I'm looking to capture the entire webpage. Can you help guide me with this? (I own an old version of Adobe Acrobat, which was able to make a PDF from the page, but it took me a long time of troubleshooting to figure it out.

    THANKs SO MUCH!!!

    Hello,

Is anyone else still seeing this problem with the current 1.4.0.11 version?

    Thanks!

I scan a document to pdf but when I try to open it with Nitro Professional 6, I get a blank document and a message that the file has been damaged (corrupted) and has been repaired. I can open the same document successfully in Adobe, however. Please help! I love to use Nitro and the editing features are imperative to be able to do. Thank you.
