Please add an option in Preferences | General to have the "Default page view" and "Default zoom" settings override the Initial view settings embedded in a PDf file.
Put another way: An option to prevent the settings built into pdf's to override my preferences.

This is something we are considering as a preference. Thanks for submitting and for using Nitro Reader

Please add feature: User definable default Zoom Percent. Thanks, Sean

Has this been followed up yet? We are having issues with Nitro PDF Creator and the fact that it specifies the initial view. Hence, when you open in Nitro as above, the settings of the file itself override the preferences of the viewer. From my point of view I cannot understand the benefits of this. If I open a PDF, I want it to open the way I want it. How dare the author specify how I view my PDF's!

Hey Dallas, lighten up. Have a cup of coffee. Your comment, " How dare the author specify how I view my PDF's! " is a little over the top.

I like Nitro and use it to create pdf's, but I use Foxit portable to read them because my viewer setting overrides the documents. i created several pdf's thinking that defaulting the viewer to "fit width" would open them that way, but it doesn't. I am not going to go back and find the articles to reprint them (after changing the printer driver to fit width). Foxit uses the viewer default not the documents.

Is this going to happen? I do research in pdfs all day - having to adjust the view settings with each pdf I open is a waste of time - what's the point in having a reader-side default view option if a pdf author can change the settings on me? I completely agree with Dallas. If this is going to happen in Nitro, I'll stick with it (I like Nitro otherwise), but, if it's not, I need to find another viewer.
