I think you should allow multiple PDFs to be merged into one PDF.

4Just 2 things missing and I can uninstall my Acrobat:
1) ability to delete pages
2) move/copy pages from one pdf to another

4That ́s an excellent idea Demetri, the possibility to split and merge between different PDF files would make nitro pdf reader the perfect tool for handling PDF files.
Chris, i know that maybe we are asking too much since this is free, and there are a lot of available free options to split and merge, but please think about it, the possibility to do everything inside the same software is great.

JUST PRINT IT IN PRIMO AND CHOOSE "AMEND".
First open the file in Primo and create a PDF then try to save another file that you want to add and use the same file name as the first and choose "Amend" instead of overwrite. This makes one PDF file from 2 or more.- view 4 more comments

Hi Demetri, that's what I was looking for since a long time. Especially, when you scan-in a document by means of a MFP/Scanner with the ADF(Automatic Document Feeder) most devices let you scan first the pages 1,3,5.. and in a second scan you may scan the back pages 2,4,6.... So we need a tool, to merge these 2 pdf-files and drag and drop the pages to bring them in the right order.

It does not work in the way I expected. I want not to just join the documents, but really merge them and bring them in the right order. BTW: Freepdf is worse in quality, compared with dopdf, and needs double space for the generated files!

1What would be needed is an option to generate a table of contents at the beginning with the file names (a master TOC so to speak). That way if it is printed, you can use the overall page number to find the internal pdf. It would be a plus if it could hyperlink to the interal pdf's start page too.
I need this because I merge several business continuity plans together related to a particular process and I need to have the overall TOC available. I can use vbscript and another free tool to get the page count of each file and print it myself. But I cannot put the overall page number in the footer of the merged pdf document. Even the Pro version cannot do that. -

1Within the full version of Nitro or Adobe you can drag and drop or move pages within the file in the thumbnail window and this reorders them. In other words you print in Primo amend to get all the pages together in a single file then you click and move with your mouse. Or you can drag and drop in the right place from one thumbnail to the other. Can this be done in the Reader or could it be?

i am having problems editing my merged pages i had 3 .pgs and merged 1 now when i rotate them it rotates 2 others at the same time. i cant get them all the same way!!!-
Lyndsey, are you using Nitro PDF Reader or Nitro PDF Professional? Nitro PDF Reader only lets you append and not merge PDFs, while also only letting you rotate the *view* (which would shift the view for all pages). If you're using Nitro PDF Professional you can submit a support ticket at http://www.nitropdf.com/professional/... or create a new 'Problem' issue on this site and one of our support team will be more than happy to help.

You can easily and for free merge pdf's on www.mergepdf.net
Just upload the pages and wait for the pdf to download. I use this all the time. I wish Nitro would implement this though.- view 2 more comments

Allow users to change the order of pages. When creating multiple page PDFs from scans it would be nice to be able to put all the pages in any order the user desires.

From my point of view all those ideas can be summed in:
- Eraser option (can let you erase words like in paint, or FOXIT, even if it does not work like we WANT and allows erase of only stuff you added....)
- There SHOULD definitely be at LEAST the possibility to reorganize pdf pages !! I mean it is soooo obvious..i didn't even think it was not possible!!! Powerpoint does it just by sliding the page in the preview.....and nitro PDF has to include this feature....it's not even a luxury...it's basic basic stuff that is helpfull. And wan't cost time at all to the team to implement
- haihaisoft (and others) that i used had a thumbnail preview/overview at startup of the last 10 viewed files. It allows for quick recovery/interest while making it look NICE. Seriously implementing this can only make NITRO look better !! Think about it !
- ability to delete pages (from left thumbnail preview i presume) is also ESSENTIEL to many of us!!!! this has to be CONSIDERED as a necessary step. Again it is sooo basic (and easy in powerpoint!!) why would you prevent us from doing so in Nitro ???
- Of course all of this DOES not have to add any more RAM usage please !!! Keep optimizing memory use....hopefully nitro will be able someday to hit a 20mb usage like many pdf readers !
All in all i am very happy with this tool....just a few more updates and all will be PERFECT -
