iPad app of Nitro Reader/Pro for on-the-go mark-ups
Just thought - an iPad app of Nitro reader that allow hand-writing (using capacitive touch stylus) as well regular note taking tools on top of PDF files. I'm imagining this with lecture slides or even when reading course notes. The iPad and other tablet systems lend themselves to the document mark-up features offered by this software.

This is a fantastic idea, one which I have been waiting a long time for.
I work at an engineering firm and when we are working on a project and have to get a set of drawings out I would love something like Nitro PDF to use to markup my set of drawings, this would cut out a whole lot of paper and colour printing. Just imagine ten different people receiving a set of drawings which they all independently markup, then the CAD guys have to rip through the set and co-ordinate all these markups, I just think that there would be an easier way with Nitro PDF. I mean the ipad is not the ideal platform for this since it would be nice to have a bigger screen but a similar thing would apply for document editing I guess.
In it's simplest form I guess it would just be a PDF viewer with the ability to write notes on it etc. and be able to email it off to someone with those hand written edits save as a 'layer' of some sort so that the person reading the PDF can view multiple layers of edits sent to them by various people. I guess there are apps already out there like padnotes that does this but I'm sure you cleaver guys at Nitro can come up with a super PDF editing app and more.
Handwriting recognition would be great too since the handwritten notes don't look all that flash when I look at other note taking apps. -

I'd love an iPhone app for Nitro PDF, too, and wouldn't expect it to be free. Even just to view annotated PDFs that were synced with the desktop version would be dreamy for grad school studies. I still print out large documents for commentary in the margins, but this would move me closer to paperless studies.
Great program, though. -

This would be my sole reason to actually buy in iPad.
As a student, it would be absolutly wonderous to read all the reasearch articles directly on your iPad as well as editing them with highlights and underlines to emphasize special parts of the document.
Please. I would actually kill for such an app. And get an iPad. -

Sorry, no progress as yet!

I need to be able to edit and sign PDF documents, allow me to save my signature stamp as in the full version, combine documents, pull and save to/from drop box, etc...

I as well would like to know!
One of the ONLY reasons I actually would by and iPhone or an iPad! -

I have used many PDF readers (both free and paid) on my iPod touch and I was wondering why doesn't Primo/Nitro come out with an iPod/iPad application.
I really love Primo/Nitro because for me it's been a consistently well working program that performs as it should. it would be great to see an application from Primo/Nitro in the future on my touch screen... *hint hint*

Nitro for world domination, but first and iPod appliacation!. -

Completely agree!!
Since a lot of our work is cloud-based, we have staff whose computers are gathering dust as they do almost everything on their iPads now. Unfortunately, being able to annotate a PDF (even just for the sake of being able to sign a document and send it back out) is a lacking feature! HELP NITRO!! -

I would be ABSOLUTELY THRILLED to have an primo pdf or nitro pdf app for iPhone/iPad. When making online payments, I would like to save the printed receipt, but not near printer to use any "air" printing. Converting an online receipt to PDF would be so great for me to email to print later. If using Primo PDF online is the way to handle that now, please let me know!

I bought an Ipad and can't find a Nitro PDF app. If one program should have such an app, it's Nitro. I want to work paperless and with Nitro I can fill out any PDF form on a Ipad. Hope it comes soon.

There is a lot of commercial potential here for a PDF client for mobile devices. I'd be happy to pay for software to the ipad and android tablet machines that enabled me to fill in PDF forms and resave them to access on my office machine again.

I speak to a lot of contractors and office staff who now use ipads and are getting rid of netbooks. Now people are using Google and Collabor8online to store documents and run their business, an ipad application is a must, I had a dog walker insisting her web site would run perfectly on an ipad! Other rival Readers do have Ipad apps, please dont get left behind, we love the software. As per cja140, this is something I would pay for and I am sure many other users would.

Hey Mike -- such a great piece of feedback, thank you. What I can say now is that an iPad app from Nitro is a part of our strategy moving forward. We're lucky to have users such as yourself.
Thanks. -

Do you need more votes? You have mine. I loved my nitro/primo on my Mac and spread the word...but now I rarely use the Mac because I have an Ipad! I would also buy primo PDF as an app.

As a recent buyer of a Toshiba Thrive and a long time Nitro and Primo PDF owner, I would also pay for an Android PDF Viewer / Annotate app. I agree with the previous comments about creating, annotating and viewing PDF files from a tablet to save time and paper. WIth the additional USB and SD card ability on the Thrive, my interchange with other devices makes the PDF app more desirable.

interesting stuff -- I find the iPad brilliant and frustrating in equal measures. for example, as Mike says with collabor8online its brilliant -- we use it for project management and document sharing, you can take all of your documents with you and view them in PDF's DOC or whatever but... if you get to a site that uses flash -- problems as everybody knows it's really inconvenient and I wish Apple would sort it out.
Still love it though -

Any update on this app? Anymore customers' support needed? I fully support and truly hope for this to soon become a reality! Doing an online MBA while working full time it would be amazing to have Nitro on my iPad where I also already have my school's e-books. Please Nitro team... Make us happy! ;-)

Yes, but you have to pay for this app and it doesn't look like you can fill in form fields, not really any better than other free apps for the iPad, and there are better apps if you are willing to pay. And this forum is about Nitro, so pointless posting.

iAnnotate is great for filling in form fields.

I own a BlackBerry PlayBook and also love Nitro Pro on my PC. In PlayBook forums, users often express interest in a PDF reader/writer; we have Adobe Reader but ... Has there been any more thought given to the tablet market? Nitro would be a very important tool in that environment.

I love the idea of being able to print and save emails, bills and receipts on my iPhone 4S. I'm glad you're working on creating an app for that purpose. I know my wife would love the ability on her ipad2 also.
Thanks,

Please create an app and please make it universally available for both iphone and ipad. I currently use Goodreader and if you can match the functionality of that excellent app I will certainly switch. Also if possible could you maybe create a way to send a pdf from my desktop to the app on my iDevice! that would be great as well.

looks like this topic is definitely the answer i need too. Any progress yet Nitro? Is it in the works with some projected target release date yet?

Is Nitro Pro compatible with iPad? If so, how do i purchase/download it?

iPad App?. -

I would very much like this too. I would love to use the crop tool in a PDF reader/editor to help me in editing figures I use for my LaTex documents. So far, there is no app that will do this.
On the other hand, there are many picture apps that have this functionality but none of them open PDFs.
By the way, I am willing to pay. -

My expectation is high please don't dash it on the rocks of dispair
Hi I am up for an Ipad app, It needs to allow forms created in Nitro Pro, to be filled in and returned. There are apps out there that will do this but hey you guys aim to be the leaders in all things PDF so lead!
Has great business survey, potential, Classroom teaching, Exam Testing, Use by clubs to get memberships form signed and returned.
So yes Ipad & Android as well as the Windows Mobile OS are a must for the future.
Next week would be good :-))))))
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pdf-fo...
But a Nitro solution would be the way to go.-
PS if you want me to beta test the app on Ipad I will be happy to do that.

I'll join GFrost in being a beta test. It would be great to have an iPad app that allows me to fill in forms.
