Excessive memory usage.
The same PDF opened in both SumatraPDF (the current Netbook favourite) and NitroPDF Reader. Note the high memory usage. Why does NitoPDF Reader need four times as much memory to open the same file?

When the mouse pointer is clicked and held in a page, the cpu utilization reaches 100% and does not go down until the mouse button is released.

Hi Conamju,

Hello
I have same problem, usually it allocates around 800MB to 1.2GB for me.
any updates? -
-
Memory consumption rises proportional if document has several pages and is scrolled page by page. It seems everything once visible on screen is kept in systems memory and not released. This behaviour cannot be observed with Adobe Reader (V7.x)
For me, as an user of an slow XP PC a "No Go!" since swap file increases dramatically and PC cannot be used anymore!
I'm using the most current version of Nitro PDF. -

I experienced a shut down for lack of memory while highlighting in a 3 page file. (W7-64)

Is anything being done about this memory issue? It is horrible. Open up a file and try to search and the Mem Usage jumps to 900MB!!, effectively disabling my computer by taking all the available memory.

I am also having serious memory usage problems. I love the software but it is almost unusable in long periods of time. Hopefully something will be done soon! Thanks!

Hello,
We have made many improvements to the memory management for Version 2 of the Reader. Can you test with the latest version?

Thanks! -

Thank You Nitro. With Nitro PDF 2, the problem is completely solved.

My issue is with Nitro PDF Professional, not the Reader. What is being done to fix this in the PAID software?

I am also seeing this issue with Nitro PDF professional. Please advise

Hello,
We're working on improvements around memory management with Version 7 of PRO. It will have the same fixes as the Reader (seen above).
It is due out near the end of the year.
Thanks! -

I experienced a shut down for lack of memory over and over again!

Hello,
What product are you using? How large is the file you're accessing?
We'd like to help but we need more specific details.
Please submit a support ticket at www.nitropdf.com/support.

Same old same - I can only page down my document until the memory is used up 1.2GB - then blank pages.
Using Nitro PRO - downloaded 28 Nov 2011.
Should I revert to using Adobe??- view 3 more comments

I have just tested and can see the issues you are talking about, our engineering team have tried to eliminate this kind of behaviour occurring, I have passed this through so we can investigate further. Thank you for your feedback!!

Unfortunately I can't because it's a confidential document. The issue seems to be lack of memory with the program.

We have made significant improvements to our memory management in Nitro Pro and Reader x.3, can I confirm what version you are using ?

Hi there,
I cannot print to PDF for my word and excel file. Message recevied states "not sufficient memory". I have restarted PC several times and got no luck. What shall I do ? -
-
Updated to Nitro 2.3.1.2 and now it will not print pdf's.
Are there any patches/fixes out there.
Running xp
When I try to print, the docs in the print tab are excessivley large and the spoolsv.exe is taking up at least 50% of cpu.
Docs are only 3page forms I have been using for years with no problems. Seemed to occur with the latest update.
Thanks,
Ken-
Hi Ken, unfortunately you are not sharing your email address so I can't create a support ticket for you. Could you please create a new post for your issue? As this seems different from the original issue in this thread.

Last week, I upgraded to latest Nitro Reader version (after checking for updates) and have not been able to print PDFs from Nitro to my Kyocera FS-1320D since (due to "excessive memory" problems) - and it also messes up any other PDF software (according to our IT professionals), not to mention stalling the printer. (To use my computer & printer, I need to reset the printer and computer - and not use Nitro Reader to print.)
More details:
Nitro PDF (R) Reader 2.3.1.2
Windows 7 Professional 6.1 7600
System memory: 1.99 GB
Any advice? (There are other PDF readers out there, but Nitro is my favorite, and I recommend it to everyone. I'd like to keep using it, but my IT Dept is going to make me uninstall it if it's messing up the printer.)
Thanks! -
