Build an Android version of Nitro Reader
Is nitro pdf reader available for Android devices? If not, I'd like to suggest that it be developed.

I 'm the owner of a Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 with Android 3.1 and missing the features of NitroPDF on this tab. The adobe reader is not the one I like.
So hopefully Nitro is gonna develop an Nitro reader for the android market. -
As a recent buyer of a Toshiba Thrive and a long time Nitro and Primo PDF owner, I would also pay for an Android PDF Viewer / Annotate app. You are missing the start of a trend where you could own the app market for creating, annotating and viewing PDF files from a tablet to save customers time and paper while using their tablets. WIth the additional USB and SD card ability on the Thrive, my interchange with other devices makes the (your) PDF app more desirable.

Unfortunately we do not have plans to make our product compatible with Android or any other operating systems besides from Windows.

mikeyr August 11, 2011 13:42Please reconsider and make plans to make a version for Android and Apple. Nitro PDF could own the smartphone market! You could create an app and users would gladly pay a reasonable price.EditDeleteRemove

Android could really do with a better pdf reader
The built-in PDF reader is ok but could be better
The Adobe version is really very limited indeed
Perhaps you are missing a major opportunity -

1I've changed your original post to an idea to gain some more user feedback on this feature request. I would like to see an app for smart phones as well so you have my vote on this one. -

I'm also a Thrive user, and a long-time Nitro desktop user. Please make an android version of this great program!

I would like to auto add form fields and manually add buttons, drop downs, etc., by users using Nitro Reader. Would like to see these capabilities also in an app (Android) where forms can be completed in a mobile environment (by law enforcement).

I just bought an HTC Sensation mobile phone (Android). Yes, it has Adobe Reader on it, which is OK, but there are no bookmarks facilities, annotation facilities, or even return to the last page facility. If you have a long textbook, several hundred pages, it is a pain to get back to the page where you left off.
I believe this would be a major opportunity for Nitro to take the lead! -

I have an HTC EVO 4G. So does my daughter. My wife has an HTC EVO Shift 4G. We would all love it if Nitro would release an Android app. If you developed and app that read and annotated PDFs for both iOS and Android, you could make a significant impact on the market. By spreading your development costs by developing and app that could be ported to both OSs, you could have a winner! WE NEED NITRO TO STEP UP!
I think Nitro is missing a golden opportunity; it would be a shame to see you miss the window of opportunity.

YES! Please! There is no denying it... fail to embrace mobile and you guys will be left behind. I can't think of a better use case than reading and annotating PDF documents on a tablet! I own a Samsung Galaxy tab 7".... use it for grad school readings... need to annotate docs.... may switch back to iPad solely for that reason. Currently using ezPDF for Android... annotating is very limited... not available on all pdfs!

I agree, nitro should be made compatible with android. The new Archos HDD tablets are most exciting because they offer such huge memory storage and all my reference ebooks could be stored on the tablet and id be able to annotate them easily with the nitro pdf professional package.
In fact, id been waiting for tablets to increase storage for a while now, and now ive just foudn that archos has just released a hard disk drive tablet capable of up to 500gb storage, its exactly what im looking for. Well... if im honest what i want is a dual screen tablet (each screen 7"+) with processing speed above 2Ghz per processor which has touch screen capability to annotate pdfs with a stylus. This is my dream device.. so definitely get nitro pdf ready for android systems PLEASE :) -

It would be great if I could use nitro pdf on my android tablet, its a feature I would gladly pay for. I don't use my computer when I'm just doing readings for grad school or work anymore, neither do other members of my family. Frankly, I love nitro but if a competitor offered this feature I might be forced to switch.

Came across this topic after I ran a search on your website looking for a Droid version of Nitro. Disappointed to not find it, so adding my vote for it, and yes, I'd pay as long as it works the same as windows version.

I agree, Nitro PDF Reader for Android could be the most downloaded APP in the AM... I would pay for that also, and old Adobe counterpart, is too dull that I hadn't bothered myself downloading it....

Come on Nitro People. Time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Android is such a big potential market.
A tip from experience though - small and lean is better -

I give up. This is just not going to happen.

I'm also frustrated and sad

Mikeyr is probably right, perhaps there is some deal made with microsoft to prevent them from making an android version because now windows 8 is coming to tablets and on mobiles, the fact that nitro will work on that OS and not android will be a selling point for windows tabs and mobiles. I might wait for windows 9 though until i buy a tablet with windows to make sure all the bugs are fixed since windows 8 will be like the trial system for tabs and touchscreens.
Maybe its a good thing, maybe your love for nitro will make you purchase a windows touchscreen device instead of android and microsoft might wipe the competition with their new platform. Then you'll be glad you had a windows touchscreen for all the added benefits... lets hope anyway :) -

@igoldson85 - I don't think so, that is wishful thinking. Nitro Pro is shooting itself in the foot here by not doing a Android or iOS version as well. I don't know what the reasoning is behind it, but it is short sightedness, if you ask me.

Re @igoldson85's comment about Nitro Pro is shooting itself in the foot here by not doing a Android or iOS version.
Yes, particularly given adobe has an app for android.
