We are halfway through Q2 2011. Can you please provide a shipping date for the version of Nitro Pro that will have this feature in it? If this is not resolved, we will have to revert to other software as the build up of layered PDFs in Nitro at present is unworkably slow.

We're getting closer, but are still ironing out some final issues with the current version 7 build.
That said though, I'd like to clarify the problem you are having. Because it sounds like you're actually having issues with vector heavy PDF files, not PDF layers (also known as OCGs).
Would you mind contacting me at chris.dahl@nitropdf.com and provide a few of the files that are really slow for you? We may have an existing v6 build that will help you with this problem.
